Thunder SMS

Thunder SMS was developed for Tri-Town Thunder fans to get the latest scores.  This project is still listed as on going because we are examining ways of making it more automated, without annoying everyone.  The way it worked was someone would login to a simple page, provide a few details of the score, teams, period and the next home game and it would send out a formatted text message to anyone who signed up on the website with their cell number.  The downfall of the system was that someone had to initiate the original message in order to send it, which was good when we knew the score.  The system could also send out other message and updates on the team if needed.  The system worked with SaskTel, Telus, MTS, and most major Canadian cellular networks.

The project isn't available to download as it was unique to the Tri-Town Thunder club but it's attributes could be applied to another project.
